Introduction

This tour shows how to send messages using a simple list of E-mail addresses stored in a text file. So, you have a simple maillist stored in file named

WinFiles.txt

Creating a mailbox

Mailing lists are to be linked to Advanced Direct Remailer through mailboxes. Open the program settings window and choose the Mailboxes tab.

Click the Create New Mailbox button as shown in the figure above and enter the mailbox name, e.g. winfiles.

Adding a mailing list

Now it's time to link our mailing list to the mailbox we've just created. Please note that you can link several mailing lists or plugins to the same mailbox.

Click the Add Mailing List button, as shown in the picture above. In the window that appeared, enter the file name or choose the file through a standard dialogue by clicking the Choose File button

Verify settings

If name of the file that contains the mailing list is entered correctly, and the file exists, the small red icon signaling that there is a problem must change into the normal folder icon . Click Apply to store your settings.

Mailing address

Switch to the Server tab and check the mail server domain name (Local domain field). In our example, it is adr.myhost. On the second step of our tour, we have created a mailbox named winfiles. Now, Advanced Direct Remailer will forward all messages sent to the address winfiles@adr.myhost to addresses listed in the text file WinFiles.txt linked to the mailbox winfiles.

Note: do not use 'localhost' as local domain. MS Outlook can't send email to this domain.

Mailing messages

Now we can start with mailing. Launch a mail client configured to send mail through the Advanced Direct Remailer mail server and send a message to the address winfiles@adr.myhost.

If you have done everything correctly, Advanced Direct Remailer will create messages to all the addresses contained in the file WinFiles.txt. The messages created will appear in your Outbox.
