Merrill Lynch & Co. Chairman and Chief Executive Officer David Komansky apologized Friday for e-mails sent by some of the firm's research analysts that denigrated stocks it recommended investors buy. The sentencing of a man convicted of killing the family cat because it annoyed him has been postponed while investigators look into threatening e-mails sent to the prosecutor in the case.
